The Transparency Act
As of July 1, 2022, everyone has the right to request information from businesses covered by the Transparency Act regarding how they handle issues related to fundamental human rights and decent working conditions. Fosdalen AS is subject to this law.
Fosdalen AS's Principles
Our company is committed to ensuring that all activities comply with the UN's human rights principles. We hold the same expectations for our suppliers and their subcontractors throughout the product chain.
Our Efforts
Fosdalen AS procures goods from a diverse range of suppliers. These suppliers, in turn, source their products from other suppliers or directly from factories, both domestically and internationally. We have initiated the process of gathering information about the subcontractors used by our various suppliers. Many of our major suppliers label each product line with the country of origin, and we expect other suppliers to be able to provide this information upon request.
The Law
The Transparency Act is a law that grants individuals the right to request information from businesses about how they manage impacts related to fundamental human rights and decent working conditions. As a company subject to this law, we take our obligations seriously.
Our Commitment
We are deeply committed to ensuring that all our operations align with the UN's human rights principles. We also have clear expectations that our suppliers and their subcontractors adhere to these principles throughout the entire supply chain. To comply with the requirements of the Transparency Act, we have begun collecting information about the subcontractors of our suppliers. This process is crucial to ensure that every link in our supply chain respects human rights and maintains decent working conditions.
Furthermore, we have a close collaboration with our largest supplier, who is already a member of Ethical Trade Norway. This partnership facilitates the tracing and verification of the origin of goods and ensures they are produced under acceptable conditions. We also expect other suppliers to provide information about the country of origin of their goods when needed.
